Day 242... need

The Moth don't care when he sees The Flame.
He might get burned, but he's in the game.
And once he's in, he can't go back, he'll
Beat his wings 'til he burns them black...
No, The Moth don't care when he sees The Flame. . .
The Moth don't care if The Flame is real,
'Cause Flame and Moth got a sweetheart deal.
And nothing fuels a good flirtation,
Like Need and Anger and Desperation...
No, The Moth don't care if The Flame is real. . . "
— Aimee Mann

We all have a passion... some hide from it, while others embrace it. Thanks to this project I now embrace my passion

Day 208...

This is a quick shot of the wood pile in the hotel where we had dinner for my son's birthday (interesting thing is they only have gas fires)... another very busy day

Day 179... winter

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape - the loneliness of it - the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it - the whole story doesn't show."
- Andrew Wyeth
Most of the trees are bare at the moment but this one tree is trying to hold onto it's Autumn leaves

Day 172... Patience

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

I have been busy of late, I think I need to stop and slow down... not sure when though

Day 171... spiky

Count the garden by the flowers, never by the leaves that fall. Count your life with smiles and not the tears that roll.

I was walking along today when I saw this, it was about 40cms long and I wanted to bring it home so I could really take my time but...
as soon as I picked it up I realised that because of the spikes I wouldn't be taking it far

Day 112... Good Friday

Hot cross buns,
Hot cross buns,
one ha' penny,
two ha' penny,
hot cross buns.

Traditionally hot cross buns were eaten only on Good Friday but now they are widely available, and eaten, throughout much of Lent... this year I waited until today, Good Friday.

For everyone who has a break this Easter (here in Australia it is a five day break due to the Anzac Day holiday) I hope you have a great break and stay safe

Day 104...

falling leaves
hide the path
so quietly

~John Bailey, "Autumn,"

the days are getting shorter and the leaves are falling from the trees, colours are changing but the weather is still nice... Autumn is here and it is a beautiful season.

My thanks to a dear friend, who gave me a memory card to keep in my purse (as I would often be caught without a card having left it in the computer) and with out that memory card this photo would not have been because once again I forgot the card

Day 93... new growth

I know that it may not look like new growth but this is a bromeliad pup... it needs to be seperated from the "mother" plant and it will become its own plant

Day 79... autumn days

In autumn when the trees are brown
The little leaves come tumbling down
They do not make the slightest sound
But lie so quietly on the ground
Until the wind comes puffing by
And blows them off towards the sky.

These leaves never got the chance to fly into the sky... my beautiful, two year old, nephew collected them for me so I just had to take photos of them.
