Day 150...

150 days of taking at least a photo a day...
I didn't think I would last 50 days but I have.

A dear friend gave me the wonderful idea of shooting a building that is a 150 years old to celebrate 150 days.... so here is the North Adelaide Congregational Church.

Day 148...

Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into.

Henry Beecher, Life Thoughts, 1858

Day 149...

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
Albert Camus

Today I thought I would go capture the beauty of a Autumn landscape,
so I travelled to the Adelaide Botanical Gardens
but even the best laid plans don't go to plan...

I can't help to get in close and capture the detail... I did get a landscape,
a panoramic landscape...

as I was leaving this guy landed on the ground right in front of me and of course I had to capture him...

Day 147... magic

If there is magic on the planet, it is contained in the water.

- Loren Eisley

Winter has not even begun yet this is my third photo in less than a week of raindrops

Day 146... burst of colour

It was a grey day, the sky, the streets but Mother Nature gave bursts of colour...
The bougainvillea across the road from work caught my eye as I sat looking out the window, (not day dreaming... I was thinking how to word an email, really I was) so out in to the drizzling rain to capture the beauty of the colour I went

Day 145... raindrops

Rain is grace; rain is the sky condescending to the earth;

without rain, there would be no life.

- John Updike

I got caught in the rain at lunch time today and for cover sat in my car until it had passed, the front windscreen became a blur of water but the side windows caught my eye.

Day 144...

“On the motionless branches of some trees, autumn berries hung like clusters of coral beads, as in those fabled orchards where the fruits were jewels . . .”

Charles Dickens

These berries are so very tiny, they first form as green berries in clumps, turning this beautiful metallic colour

Day 143... proud

To everyone else this may just be a piece of metal tubing with welding on it but to me it is something special...

My son is doing a 10 week TAFE course in Fabrication and Welding and this is something he did today. It is padding using MIG welding

Day 142... raindrops

“Sometimes I see myself as a child in a rain storm, running around trying to catch all the drops in his mouth. I long for your adventures to be like the raindrops the child saves and not those which crash to the ground.”

I don't catch the raindrops in my mouth but I do want to catch them in photos... it may official be Autumn but the weather is becoming more and more wintry

Day 141... steam

"Steam" by Aussie artist Donna Marcus

Donna Marcus is an Australian artist best known for her use of vast collections of discarded aluminium kitchenware. Constructed from discarded kitchen utensils – plastic and aluminium teapots, lids, jelly moulds, steamers, colanders, egg poachers and bottle-tops – her sculptures draw viewers into a world of kitchens both remembered and imagined. Marcus is engaged by the stories evoked by these objects, and by the familiarity they engender in many viewers

Steam is a collection of balls in Brisbane Square made from strainers.

Day 140... above the clouds

The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious. And why shouldn't it be? - it is the same the angels breathe. ~Mark Twain, "Roughing It"

There is something special about being above the clouds... the light is different and looking down seeing the light on top of the clouds is wonderful.

I love the colour and light of this cloud with the darkness of the ground below.

Day 139... anew

“With each sunrise, we start anew”

As I drove in this morning I marvelled at the beauty that mother nature gives us

Day 138...

A man's worth has its season, like fruit.

Francois de La Rochefoucauld

Last week was the first week that I set up a shot for the theme... I enjoyed the challenge and so I have decided to give it a go again this week.
