Last year I took a very similar shot of the Opera House...it was a grey, overcast day but this time Sydney was sparkling
a snapshot of my travels through life in photos (and maybe sometimes in words)...

Y2 Day 130...
Two nights away in Sydney staying at the Rocks and when you are staying in the Rocks there are two things dominate the landscape... the Opera House and the Bridge so here is a shot of the Opera House

Y2 Day 126,,, gems or tears
“Dew-drops are the gems of morning, But the tears of mournful eve!”
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Today I have picked up my camera with the desire to take photos... there is so much beauty to capture and I am beginning to see it again
Thank you all for your support and messages, I am taking each day hour by hour and getting through... of course there are good times and bad but I keep going.
On Saturday the 21st of April my baby boy, Ryan John, aged 17 was tragically taken from us in a car accident.
Since that day I have been taken it hour by hour and have had little inspiration to pick up my camera... these are some shots of the many flowers that we have received.
Soon I will pick up the camera again and continue with my project....

Y2 Day 112...
A normal person sees a storm, thinks help and runs away
A photographer sees that storm, and runs the other way
Off into the cold they go, the wind, the rain and more
To capture pics no matter what, of all the things they saw
Watching all the huge waves crashing, defiantly they stand
Looking out from beneath the pier, with camera in hand
Why do we do such stupid things, like photograph the snow
We can’t resist to get that pic, so off we always go
We see the world through rule of thirds, and many shades of grey
The search to get the perfect shot, continues every day
The poem: "The photographer" by Dean Thorpe.
It wasn't a storm, just a little Autumn rain but instead of staying warm inside I headed out to see what I could capture...
Y2 Day 111
The helicopter is a fine way to travel, but it induces a view of the world that only God and CEOs share on a regular basis.
Morley Safer
Unfortunately this helicopter can not give me the view that God and CEOs share but I have been lucky enough to have been up four times and will go again...

Y2 Day 110
One of those days where I kept putting off taking a photo, then before I know it is 11pm, I was tired and just wanted to go home so walking around work I found a photo... not the most interesting subject but a photo
Y2 Day 109... changing
"Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn."

Y2 Day 107
I believe in the photographer's magic — the ability to stir the soul with light and shape and colour. To create grand visual moments out of small and simple things, and to infuse big and complicated subjects with unpretentious elegance. He respects classic disciplines, while at the same time insists on being fast, modern and wild.- Amyn Nasser
Y2 Day 104... vision
Anyone can take a picture...a person with a passion sees the picture before it's taken.
- Anonymous
I saw a bush full of these flowers and then in my mind I saw the photo I wanted, all I had to do was find the flower to enable me to capture it

Y2 Day 103.... patchwork
“We do not live an equal life, but one of contrasts and patchwork; now a little joy, then a sorrow, now a sin, then a generous or brave action”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Taken somewhere between Sydney and Adelaide... looking out I saw a patchwork and wanted to share

Y2 Day 102...
"Drinking good wine with good food in good company is one of life's most civilized pleasures."
--- Michael Broadbent
I was lucky, good wine, good food, wonderful company and not a bad view...

Y2 Day 100... gold bunny
I don't eat a lot of chocolate but I do enjoy Lindt chocolate so for Easter I receive Gold Bunnies...
The Lindt Gold Bunny first opened his eyes to the world of chocolate in 1952.
The story goes that one bright spring morning in March, when the ground was still covered with a blanket of crisp white snow, one of the LINDT Maîtres Chocolatiers saw a little bunny in his garden. The Maître Chocolatier´s young son was completely mesmerised when he saw the little bunny but began to cry as soon as it disappeared in the bushes.
Deeply touched by how upset his son was, the father suddenly had a great idea:
“I should make a bunny like that one out of chocolate…” He made the bunny from the finest LINDT milk chocolate, wrapped it in a golden foil and put a red ribbon with a golden bell around its neck, so it would not get lost.
“When the bell rings, you can easily find it” the Maître said to his young son. And so, the very first GOLD BUNNY was born,

Hot cross buns,
Hot cross buns,

Hot Cross Buns appeared in the stores back at the beginning of February.... I have resisted the temptation until Easter and this morning I enjoyed Hot Cross Buns for breakfast and they were delicious.
I took a similar photo last Easter... http://365project.org/frameit/365/2011-04-22 ... it is interesting how similar they are but also how different
